Essential Question:
What are the primary factors that affect student attendance in high school?

Final installment of the working data story for and with the Providence Children and Youth Cabinet. Our focus high schools are the Providence Academy of International Studies (PAIS) and William B. Cooley, Sr. Health & Science Technology High School (Cooley).

All three data stories on attendance at different grade levels have been framed using the Social Ecology Model, which advocates for the examination of environmental factors that extend beyond the individual characteristics to encompass family, peer, and school influences (interpersonal characteristics) as well as community factors. This model incorporates all the realms in which a child’s well being is influenced, and reflects a more nuanced analysis of the factors affecting attendance in schools
