Final installment of the working data story for and with the Providence Children and Youth Cabinet. Our focus high schools are the Providence Academy of International Studies (PAIS) and William B. Cooley, Sr. Health & Science Technology High School (Cooley).

70% of students at Cooley and PAIS who were chronically absent in 2010-11 had also been chronically absent the year prior.

This bar graph shows the percentage of students at Cooley and PAIS in 2010-2011 who were chronically absent (as defined by missing 10% or more of days enrolled) in SY2009-2010. Nearly 70% of students who were chronically absent in 2010-11 were also chronically absent in 2009-10. For students who were moderately absent in 2010-11 only 21% had been chronically absent in the prior year.
