Final installment of the working data story for and with the Providence Children and Youth Cabinet. Our focus high schools are the Providence Academy of International Studies (PAIS) and William B. Cooley, Sr. Health & Science Technology High School (Cooley).

The majority of teen mothers at PAIS were chronically absent.

The bar graph on the left shows the percentage of female students at PAIS for years 2004-05 to 2008-09 who had low, moderate, or chronic absenteeism AND are identified from HEALTH birth records as a teen parent.

The bar graph on the right shows the percentage of female students at PAIS for years 2004-05 to 2008-09 who had low, moderate, or chronic absenteeism and who have NOT ever reported to have had a child during their time in school.

This graphic is currently being updated to include data for both Cooley and PAIS and with additional years of data. Please check back soon!
