Systemwide*, of the 3,190 class of 2009 graduates who enrolled full-time in RI Public Postsecondary Institutions in Fall 2009, 408 (13%) were chronically absent in high school.

  • Of the three institutions, CCRI had the largest portions of chronically absent students entering in the Fall of 2009. One-fifth of students from the class of 2009 who enrolled full time at CCRI had been chronically absent in high school.

  • Nearly two-thirds of students from the class of 2009 who enrolled full time at either RIC or URI were in the lowest absence category in high school.

* Note: "Systemwide" data represents the state-wide average of all three public institutions together.
