Short Definition: % students who feel less safe than the previous year of those who were at the same school in the previous year

Long Definition:

Percent of students who were at the school for two or more years and reported that they feel less safe than they did last year. This indicator is discontinued for future comparisons because of lack of consistency between the questions in the SALT survey and the new SurveyWorks! questions.

Purpose:

This indicator allows for comparison of safety and learning environment, including its effect on educational outcomes.

Limitations:

The last SALT survey was administered in 2007-08. The new SurveyWorks! survey is replacing SALT.

This indicator is discontinued for future comparisons because of lack of consistency between the questions in the SALT survey and the new SurveyWorks! questions.
