Short Definition: % students who used drugs frequently during the past 30 days

Long Definition:

Percent of students who reported that they had used illegal drugs six or more times in the past thirty days. This indicator is discontinued for future comparisons because of lack of consistency between the questions in the SALT survey and the new SurveyWorks! questions.

Purpose:

This indicator is associated with other behavioral risk factors including heavy alcohol and tobacco use, violence and delinquency, and suicide.

Limitations:

The last SALT survey was administered in 2007-08. The new SurveyWorks! survey is replacing SALT.

This indicator is discontinued for future comparisons because of lack of consistency between the questions in the SALT survey and the new SurveyWorks! questions.
